& therapeutic Day treatment program
Updated march 2022
The health, safety, and well-being of our staff, clients, participants, students, and partners is always our top priority. We have been closely monitoring activity related to COVID-19. We have gathered and reviewed information provided by the CDC, the State of Virginia, and our partners for the clinic and workforce providers. Utilizing information provided, outreach involvement center has estAblished its guidelines for how we will address these challenging times.
The Outreach Involvement Center (O.I.C.) Learning Community is a year round learning community that is highly individualized in order to support the unique academic, social, emotional, and physical needs of our most challenging students. OIC also provides emotional and behavior supports in the form of Therapeutic Day Treatment programming along with special education case management for each student in attendance. O.I.C utilizes evidence based and accredited online curriculum programming, to include Edgenuity, Keystone and Penn Foster. Students are also provided with remediation and tutoring services in order to build areas of deficit, particularly in reading and math. O.I.C partners with parents, schools, community leaders, and local businesses in an effort to provide our students with holistic educational experiences that prepare them for productive lives.
Online instruction and group support are both available. The online credit recovery curriculum is customized to pick up where the student left off in school, keeping them on track. In addition to scholastic assistance, each student is provided counseling services, as behavioral issues are often related to suspension or expulsion from school.
